Ergonomics is most often applied to working in the correct position, but really, all activities should be performed using correct body positioning. This includes sleeping in the correct position.
A good sleeping posture will ensure a better night’s sleep. By sleeping correctly, you can prevent unwanted strains and injuries from developing. You may even wake up feeling better and less achy!
4 TIPS FOR SLEEPING RIGHT
1.KEEP YOUR PILLOW UNDER YOUR HEAD:
Pillows are meant to support your head and neck; do not sleep without a pillow that provides ample support.
2.ADDED SUPPORT:
When sleeping on your side, place a pillow between your legs, and slightly draw them up from your hips. This will add support to your hips and back.
3.DON’T SLEEP ON YOUR STOMACH:
Sleeping on your stomach causes neck strain. Also, you can breathe better when sleeping on your back or side.
4.RISE GRACEFULLY:
Don’t just jump out of bed. First turn on your side, then pull your knees up and swing your legs over the side of the bed. Push yourself up from the sitting position by pushing your hands down into the bed. Rise slowly.
